Living Rhythms Youth members Royal Albert Hall Performance
On the 9th April 2012, members of the Living Rhythms Youth performance company supported over 2000 young people from across the UK to perform at the National Youth Choir Gala event at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
Living Rhythms supported the performance of Hey Motswala, a musical piece which depeicts the meeting of two communities in celebration of marriage. Begining at Dawn with two solo voices from the children of both villages calling out to one another, the texture steadily builds to introduce new and interlocking chants of celebration from villigers of every age.
Living Rhythms accompanied the piece by performing renditions of Kakilambe, a mask dance of the Baga people of Guinea, West Africa.
